OLD CORRUGATED
CARDBOARD

Old Corrugated Cardboard is post- consumer packaging materials. If OCC is kept dry and clean, recycling is straightforward as long as all non-paper materials such as bubble wrap, wood skids, plastic bags, plastic wrapping and Styrofoam are removed. OCC is best collected baled or compacted. Loose or small bales must be re-baled prior to being sold to paper mills. Clean OCC has good value on the open market but fluctuates greatly based on supply and demand.

MIXED PAPER

Mixed paper is a broad category that often includes items such as discarded mail, telephone books, paperboard, magazines, and catalogs. Mills use mixed paper to produce paperboard and tissue, as a secondary fiber in the production of new paper, or as a raw material in non-paper product such as gypsum wallboard, chipboard, roofing felt, cellulose insulation, and molded pulp products such as egg cartons. Value of mixed paper is typically low and can be collected containerized (loose), Baled or compacted.

OLD NEWSPAPER

Old Newspaper is in higher demand by Mills that primarily use old newspapers to make new recycled-content newsprint and in recycled paperboard and tissue, among other paper grades. ONP can be collected containerized (loose), Baled or compacted.

HIGH GRADE
OFFICE PAPER

High Grade Office Paper – or White Ledger is clean post-consumer white office paper. White Ledge has a high value but it must be clean of contaminates and with diminutive quantities of other grades of paper. Paper graders normally down grade the entire bale or load of product to the lowest value product.
